Depends on your NBN type. FTTC and FTTN use your phone line. FTTP and HFC don't. Either way, you need proper cabling between your NBN connection point and modem location.
Usually water in the cable, corroded connections, or old wiring. We test the line end-to-end and fix the faulty section. A noisy phone line can also slow your internet on FTTN NBN.
