Thinking About Rewiring A House?
Electrical House Rewiring Perth - Call Andrew

It is recommended that all houses should be rewired at least every 20-25 years in order to remain safe, as the electrical components naturally deteriorate over time and cannot be expected to last forever. The blowing of fuses or regular tripping of the circuit are just two of the common signs that a rewire may be necessary.
When choosing to rewire a house there are two options. The first is a Full Rewire and the second is a Partial Rewire. You would typically choose to partially rewire your property to reduce the amount of disruption and lessen the expense. A partial rewire is also chosen when you are confident that not every area of the property is in need of any electrical work.
Our Perth electricians are available to carry out both full and partial rewiring to all property types, whether that be for domestic or commercial, new-builds or existing properties.
🏠 House Rewiring Perth
If your Perth home was built before the 1980s, there’s a decent chance it’s still running on original wiring. Old TPS cable (thermoplastic sheathed) degrades over decades — the insulation goes brittle, connections corrode, and circuits that were designed for a TV and a toaster now carry air conditioners, computers, and electric ovens. A full or partial rewire brings your home’s electrics up to modern standards and eliminates fire risks.
We do full house rewires and partial rewires across Perth’s northern suburbs. Our dad Tony has been rewiring WA homes since the 70s — there’s genuinely not a type of old wiring he hasn’t dealt with.
⚠️ Warning Signs Your Home Needs Rewiring
- Lights flicker or dim when appliances turn on
- Burning smell from switches or power points
- Discoloured or warm switch plates
- Fuses blow or circuit breakers trip regularly
- Two-pin power points (no earth pin) still in use
- Rubber or fabric-insulated cable visible in the roof space
- Switchboard still has ceramic rewirable fuses

❓ Rewiring FAQs
How long does a full rewire take?
A typical 3-bedroom home takes 3–5 days depending on access and complexity. You can usually stay in the house — we work room by room and keep the power on where possible.
Will you need to rip out my walls?
We avoid it wherever possible. Most cable runs go through the roof space and down wall cavities. Brick homes sometimes need small chases which we patch and fill. We’ll explain exactly what’s needed before we start.
How much does a full rewire cost?
It depends on the size of the home and the state of existing wiring. We do a thorough inspection first and give you a detailed written quote — no surprises. Call us for a free assessment.
