? LED Downlight Installation Perth
Still rocking those old halogen downlights that cook your ceiling and chew through your power bill? LED downlights use about 80% less energy, last 10 times longer, and don’t turn your roof cavity into a sauna. We replace old halogens with modern LEDs every single day — it’s one of the most common jobs we do.
We also install dimmer switches, smart light switches, and sensor lights. Whether you’re renovating, building new, or just sick of replacing blown globes every few months, we’ve got you sorted.
? What We Install
? Halogen vs LED — The Numbers
- Halogen: 50W per light, 2,000 hour lifespan, runs hot
- LED: 10W per light, 25,000+ hour lifespan, cool to touch
- A home with 20 downlights saves roughly $300/year switching to LED
- LEDs pay for themselves within the first year of installation
❓ Downlight FAQs
Can I replace halogen downlights with LED myself?
In WA, any work involving fixed wiring must be done by a licensed electrician. Even if the LED fits the same socket, the transformer and wiring may need changing. Plus, incorrect installation in ceiling cavities is a fire risk.
What colour temperature should I choose?
Warm white (3000K) suits living rooms and bedrooms — it’s cosy and relaxing. Cool white (4000K) works well in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages where you want clear, bright light. We bring samples so you can see the difference before we install.
Why do my LED downlights flicker?
Usually it’s an incompatible dimmer switch. Old leading-edge dimmers designed for halogens cause LEDs to flicker or buzz. We install trailing-edge dimmers that are specifically designed for LED loads.
